Responsibilities: The Special Education Teacher is responsible to implement all Desert Choice Schools/LEARN Behavioral Program Components with integrity as well as oversee behavior technicians’ implementation of these components: 1.Desert Choice Schools/LEARN Behavioral Clinical Program De-escalation, Pre-crisis, Crisis, and Post crisis Interventions Classroom Management (e.g. Cognitive Restructuring, Script, Reinforcement) Behavior Documentation and Reporting Lesson plan and conduct daily Social/Emotional Skill groups Conduct daily classroom team behavior intervention meetings Planning and implementation of social/emotional/behavioral Interventions Professional development meetings Manage two classroom behavior technicians in implementation of clinical program 2.Curriculum and Instruction Curriculum mapping, individually-design instruction, individualized lesson-planning based in common core standards and IEPs Planning, documentation and reporting of academic data/progress Planning and implementation of academic interventions (e.g. remedial reading writing and math classes) Conduct assessments, manage grading, homework, quarterly report cards Run daily classroom academic team meetings Manage two behavior technicians in implementation of lesson plans. 3.Special Education Services IEP Case Manager (e.g. maintain compliant file, schedule and run all meetings, write all IEPs, report on progress quarterly and at all meetings) Documentation and reporting of SPED data (e.g. ESY, quarterly progress reports) Oversee behavior technician(s)implementation of interventions and data reporting 4.Physical Fitness Develop lesson plans Oversee behavior technician(s)data collection and reporting on progress daily Oversee behavior technician(s) implementation of daily activities 5.Other Schedule and attend enrollment and reintegration meetings Track student attendance Maintain student accounts (e.g. cafeteria, library) Be available if crisis occurs on bus or before/after school Parent communication daily Coordinated communication with school Psychologist/Mental Health Therapist Qualifications: Active and valid Special Education K-12 Cross Categorical teaching certificate issued by the AZ Department of Education Bachelor's degree minimum Teaching experience with elementary, middle, and/or high school students Experience working with emotional and/or behaviorally challenged students preferred Arizona state IVP fingerprint card
